Interested in Joining Encore?

Encore members come from all walks of life. We are always looking to add talented voices to our chorus! Our membership includes doctors, teachers, students, and parents. We look for members who are passionate about not only singing, but the arts, musical theatre, and choral performance. We value members that understand the work that it takes to be a volunteer performer. We want members who invest in the group, who choose to volunteer not only their talent, but also their time, and their support.

Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Rehearsals closer to our performances expand to 7:00pm-10:00pm as well as Monday night rehearsals for additional performance features.

Membership dues are paid each season. Every singing member is required to pay $75 in dues as well as a music fee of $25. Financial assistance may be available, so please don’t let finances keep you from singing. Members are also responsible for their own performance attire.

Auditions generally occur once a year, prior to the start of the Spring season in January. We have two distinct seasons: Spring and Fall. We ask that prospective members prepare a short excerpt, no more than a minute long, of musical theatre repertoire.  You must provide sheet music with the cuts clearly marked and should have some general knowledge about the piece. Absolutely no a capella auditions and no prerecorded tracks. An accompanist will be provided.

Being able to read music is not a requirement of membership, but we do caution that our rehearsal processes moves quickly and there is an expectation that members keep up with this pace. We offer many resources that have been instrumental in our membership success including: part tracks, sectionals, and performance examples.
